La iniciativa, ubicada en el ex Complejo T\u00e9rmico de Tocopilla, contempla 240 contenedores de bater\u00edas de iones de litio con capacidad de almacenamiento de 660 MWh y una potencia instalada de 116 MW. \u201cTransformar un sitio que antes albergaba centrales t\u00e9rmicas en un proyecto que aporta a la descarbonizaci\u00f3n nos llena de orgullo\u201d, destac\u00f3 Carlos Regolf, Head of Projects Renewables and Batteries de ENGIE Chile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">BESS Tocopilla es el primer sistema de almacenamiento standalone de ENGIE en Chile y podr\u00e1 abastecer a cerca de 89.900 hogares por a\u00f1o. Adem\u00e1s, permitir\u00e1 evitar la emisi\u00f3n de 51.231 toneladas de CO\u2082 equivalente anuales, aportando flexibilidad al Sistema El\u00e9ctrico Nacional. \u201cSeguimos avanzando en nuestra transformaci\u00f3n, reafirmando nuestro compromiso con un futuro m\u00e1s limpio y seguro\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Regolf.
